Guns and Politics

I had an appointment this morning, and when I was eventually finished there, I stopped by my local Gun Store to check out what they had.  To my surprise they didn’t have much left in stock.  Only a handful of handguns left when usually they are pretty well stocked.  One of the owners told me they have been selling like crazy especially in the past week.  I jokingly said it was probably because of the election and they just happened to say that was probably the reason.

We got to talking for a while, but the main point came to be that people who value their gun rights will not be voting for Obama anytime soon.  I think people are getting nervous that he might actually become President, and he has a terrible stance when it comes to gun rights and Americans.  As I wrote about before, Obama has hinted that he supports a federal law banning lawful citizens from carrying concealed weapons.  I have to be seriously suspicious of any politician who wants to put such harsh restrictions on Americans who legally own firearms.  This is yet another issue Republicans could rip Obama on, but since they are so afraid of being labeled as racists, which is what anyone who opposes Obama is labeled, that they just don’t seem to want to fight.

Well with that being said I picked up a Taurus 9mm designed for concealed carrying.  It’s fairly light, hold a decent amount of rounds, and was just over $400.  I would recommend one to anyone looking for a quality firearm.
