A much needed Bill to allow Offshore drilling has been nixed by the democrats. There is absolutely no reason to keep the United States from drilling off it’s own coast, when other countries are drilling very near it. Do you think American oil companies will sell the oil that is drilled offshore at a lower price than the market will support? There is no way that offshore drilling can supply the volume to offset the current demand that is driving up the price, and there is no way that a capitalist American will sell the oil for any less than the market allows. That alone is absolutely a “good reason for opposing offshore drilling”.
