Union Bailout Coming

Rumor has it that Chrysler will file Chapter 11 bankruptcy next week, in conjunction with the government. That isn’t the troubling part, this is.

“The Treasury has an agreement in principle with the United Automobile Workers union, whose members’ pensions and retiree health care benefits would be protected as a condition of the bankruptcy filing, said these people, who asked for anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case.”

Is this a joke? So now the taxpayers are going to bailout the unions who were a big cause of the automaker mess in the first place? In case you need reminding, this is the reason for the recent tea parties. We are tired of this nonsense. The unions are one of the most corrupt organizations in the U.S., and we should not fund them in any way!

OK, so let me get this straight – I'm not going to be able to afford to retire because I'll be supporting the retirement of a bunch of people who were grossly overpaid throughout their working years to begin with?
