If you need any other proof that the government cannot do anything right, take a look at their “cash for clunkers” program.  This was a wasteful idea to begin with, by giving people up to $4500 for their old vehicles.  Once again, the tax payer had to shell out to help your neighbor buy a new car.  As with most government programs, this one is another miserable failure.

“The U.S. government’s $1 billion “cash for clunkers” program to spur new car sales ran through the money six days after it began, Senator Debbie Stabenow said.

Stabenow, a Michigan Democrat, and other lawmakers called for an infusion of taxpayer money to subsidize more new-vehicle purchases in the effort to revive dealerships and automakers while getting older, less fuel-efficient vehicles off the road. “

Of course running out of money doesn’t mean they will stop, it just means they will find more of our tax payer dollars to fund this useless program.  These people can’t even manage a simple idea such as this, do you really want them controlling your healthcare?

Quite frankly, you are not making very much sense here. The “Cash for clunkers” was went to make people 1: turn in old gas guzzlers for more fuel efficient cars saving the plant and money on gas for the buyer of the vehichle. 2: Spur the auto industry and make car sales rise. The $4500 off your taxes was just an incentive to encourage people to use the program. This program did not fail at all it succeded beyond the wildest dreams of it’s creators. It did what it was supoused to do and more. Sounds to me like your just making another lame attempt to trash Obama’s reputation.

I don’t need to make up something to trash Obama’s reputation, he’s doing that fine by himself. At a time when the government is broke, beyond broke, giving someone $4500 to trade in their “old” car is ridiculous. Have you read how the majority of cars being sold for this are foreign cars? Did you also see how Obama is refusing to release the cash for clunkers data? Keep defending this idiot.

First of all, the $4500 dollar tax rebate is the absolute maximum amount of money you can recieve off of your taxes. Not everyone recieves that kind of money they turn in their “clunker”. Second the “$4500″ off your taxes is not recieved until the buyer purchases a new car with a higher MPG. Third, the goverment can’t help the fact that people useing this program want to buy foriegn cars and anyways, it sure is one heck of a lot better than no one buying cars at all.
PS: What data? You can tell it’s working the fact that in less than a week the billion plus dollars has been pumped into the car manufacturers the old fassioned way.

Sorry, I pressed the “publish” button prematurely.
PSS: Who got us into these rediculusly high debts in the first place? I’ll answer that question for, since you are probably to proud and stubborn to admit it. The previous administration.
