The Reality about Obama and “Special Interest” Money

Over the last couple of days you probably have heard more talk from Obama about lobbyists, the democrats, and how they will be the party of the “ordinary” American.  DNC Chairman Howard Dean even continued with this rheotric today as well.  I don’t know about you, but I don’t receive tens of thousands of dollars from people randomly, but Obama does.  However for him, these people are not so random it comes to seem.

This article is from last year, but it shows how Obama’s claim that he doesn’t accept money from special interest is just false.  He’s just more sneaky about it.

Obama says, his campaign accepts no money from Washington lobbyists or from Political Action Committees or PACs.

But Obama has left a few loopholes that allow him to fund his campaign much the way other candidates do — with contributions from wealthy special interests. While railing against the “stranglehold that lobbyists and special interests have on our democracy,” his campaign coffers are filled with money from people who work for corporations and law firms that lobby the federal government.

Global Warming Bill Blocked!

Good news that this useless and expensive bill was blocked this morning.

Good news: The Lieberman–Warner eco-boondoggle is set to go down in flames today. But this is no time to rest. While the massive tax hike/green slush fund bill will most likely be shelved, it’ll come back sooner or later. And when it does, keep your eyes on “moderate” Republicans such as John Sununu who will try to appease their red-faced greenie donors and lobbyists by pulling a “for it before I was against it maneuver” this morning a la John Kerry.

Guns and Politics

I had an appointment this morning, and when I was eventually finished there, I stopped by my local Gun Store to check out what they had.  To my surprise they didn’t have much left in stock.  Only a handful of handguns left when usually they are pretty well stocked.  One of the owners told me they have been selling like crazy especially in the past week.  I jokingly said it was probably because of the election and they just happened to say that was probably the reason.

College is Not a “Birthright”

I was going back over the transcripts of last night speech, and maybe I missed it during the telecast, but what I read was unbelievable.

“that we owe it to our children to invest in early-childhood education; and recruit an army of new teachers and give them better pay and more support; and finally decide that, in this global economy, the chance to get a college education should not be a privilege for the few, but a birthright of every American.”

So who is going to pay for this Mr. Obama? Has anyone even calculated the enormous cost of paying for college for every single person in the United States? Between national healthcare, and all the other massive social programs, where is all this money going to come from? The amount of taxes that would need to be increased would be severe, and it would go well beyond taxing “the rich”.

Lets also remember that “early education” is nothing more than getting the government education mindset started at a very early age. Federal education is the problem, throwing more money at it only makes the problem worse. I keep hearing the same thing over and over from Obama…more money and “free” stuff for Americans.

Why does Obama have such a following? Because the “college crowd” and younger Americans have an entitlement attitude and all they see is a marketed image and the possibility of getting most of their life taken care of by the federal government.

Is that the America you want?

Obama’s Speech is Pure Rhetoric

I just finished watching the Obama speech, and as usual he is a good speaker, but his words hold no substance. I really have to laugh how Obama supporters are so blind to the fact that he is a weak candidate. I have been watching Twitter tonight and all I have seen is people talking about “hope”. What is this poltiician going to do to bring “hope” to your life?

In this speech he has already shown that taxes will be increased, and that businesses in America will be forced to pay for liberal feel good solutions. Obama has once again appealed to people who want the government to take care of every aspect of their life, with no clue about who will really foot the bill for it.
